Had my 1st shoot with Sam a local model that contacted me via Pink Elephant Dance and Model Agency. Shoot went well. 1st time this year I have seen sunshine through my lenses. The shoot was taken on Beverley Westwood, East Yorkshire. It had rained heavily for the last week, which meant the lower pasture are was very wet. This worked well for some reflection shoots.

Jenna and Becky model shoot
Had a photo shoot with Jenna and Becky. First time I had worked with either of these two models. Wanted to do a winter style fashion shoot. We where quite lucky with the weather. Luckily when it did rain we where at a covered seated area in a park. Big problem I found was after shoots taken due to the poor light of late afternoon. The strobe picked up the rude graffiti, which had to be photo shopped out. Hoping to work with both Jenna and Becky in the near future.

10 for 2010
Now that we are in a new year, I now have to say this year I turn forty. Not looking for a mid life crisis, but need to change some things in my life. This year I will be a grandparent, I want to be in the best of health and best of shape so I have given myself 10 things I want to do in 2010.
1. Lose a stone.
Feeling unfit and over weight, and have done for some time. Want to get back into walking and maybe kite flying again. Will be spend a lot of time following trials riders this year. So will be spend a good amount of time outdoors. I am to lose at least a stone by February 16th, the day my grandchild is born.
2. Get a sailing lesson.
This is something that I have wanted to do for some time. Might even try to blag my way onto the clipper ships when they return to Hull this year.
3. Improve website.
Need to get finger out and sort website it has been under construction for to long now. Would like to learn more about website design.
4. Do more gigs.
Enjoyed the 2 big gigs I did last year and want to do more. Need to build a better network of people in the music industry so I can get an AAA pass. Want to shoot more weddings and other events.
5. Become best granddad.
Reading blogs on baby photography, want to be there for all the golden moments. Also just want to do my best.
6. Climb Scar Fell Pike.
Messed up climb a few years ago and never made summit. Have climbed Ben Nevis and snowdon. Need scar fell to complete the set.
7. Get a degree.
Either start a photography degree or finish my nursing degree.
8. Less time on pc.
Try to us pc as a tool not an escape. Need to use it more productively.
9. Build photography business.
Need to start getting paid more for what I do. Need to develop a portfolio and move away from been a happy snapper. Need to find a niche I am happy with and work on that. Thinking about starting to go to a photography class or hook up with local flickr group.
10. Be happy.

A year in photos.
January started off cold found, very little to photograph and spent most of the time inside try to take still life's.
February warmed up slightly and took a trip up to Flamborough and took some shoots of the lighthouse.
March. Start of some nice weather and a trip to Hovingham and a moto trial. Featured rider is Emma Bristow.
April. Did a family shoot with a 4 week old baby boy. Had to lay on the floor near a French window to get this shot. Glad I did its one of my favourites of the year.
May. Very 1st gig shoot. Band featured is The Cliques. Who later reformed as The Acrobats.
June. Trip to the local skate park. Also completed my year of Project 365.
July. Waddington Airshow. Red Arrows. “the very best of British” What more can you say. I stood there grinning like a big kid.
August. My cousins wedding. Could be the title of a film. Had brilliant day. So did the bride and groom.
September. Managed to get a my 1st press pass. Photographed the the Freedom concert in Hull. Even managed to get on stage and take photos of Rap artist Chipmunk in front of a crowd of about 20,000 people. Not a bad day for a happy snapper.
October. Went to my parents house and took some shoots of the garden and dahlias.
November. Set up shot for a portrait of my eldest daughter. Recording her every 4 weeks of her pregnancy. “Dad you not gonna take a pic of my feet are you”. “No Jade”. Whoops I lied.
December. An other family shoot in two parts. Shot daughter and the dogs in the morning, then came back in the evening to get the full family.
Its been a fun year for photography, just hoping that 2010 is gonna be as good.
Happy New Year
